We’re Recruiting for a Youth Theatre Leader
The Priory Theatre is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Youth Theatre Leader to lead and develop our growing Youth Theatre programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for theatre and working with young people to help nurture confidence, creativity, performance skills, and a love of the arts in the next generation of performers.
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead weekly Youth Theatre sessions on Tuesday evenings at The Priory Theatre Rehearsal Studios in Kenilworth. They will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging workshops, rehearsals and activities for young people in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
There will be the opportunity to develop productions and showcase the work of the Youth Theatre through at least one annual performance on the Priory Theatre stage.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver weekly Youth Theatre sessions for young people
Encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and performance skills.
Create a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Work with the theatre's management committee to develop the Youth Theatre programme.
Organise and direct productions and performances as appropriate.
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in theatre, drama, directing, performance, or theatre education.
Enjoys working with children and young people.
Is enthusiastic, organised, and reliable.
Can inspire and motivate young performers of varying ages and abilities.
Has strong communication and leadership skills.
Formal teaching or drama qualifications are welcome but not essential. Applications from individuals with relevant practical theatre experience will be considered equally.

The Priory Theatre is committed to safeguarding children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and comply with the theatre's safeguarding policies and procedures.

The next generation
For young people aged 9-17, the Priory youth theatre covers all aspects of theatre including performance; devising theatre and technical, giving it’s members a well rounded introduction into how to stage a production.
