Accessibility and Inclusivity

The Priory Theatre is committed to creating an inclusive, safe and accessible environment for all our patrons. We aim to make your visit as enjoyable and easy as possible.

Please explore what we’ve already put in place below, along with some key information about our building’s layout, and feel free to reach out to our team on access@priorytheatre.co.uk or call 01926 863334 if you have any further questions.

Priory Theatre Auditorium full of an audience applauding

Our Auditorium

The Priory Theatre has an intimate auditorium with 120 seats on two levels, with unrestricted views of the stage.

The circle is only accessible via two flights of stairs and is not recommended for those with restricted mobility. The stalls are accessible via either stairs or a lift from the main foyer. For patrons in wheelchairs, please contact us in advance to book your tickets via access@priorytheatre.co.uk or 01926 863334.

For customers with other mobility issues, we recommend selecting seats on row H as this row does not require the use of any steps. Each row forward of row H requires an additional step per row to access it.

An induction loop is available on rows B-G for patrons with hearing aids. This can be used by turning your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position.

Our Foyer, Bar & Coffee Shop

The Priory has a bar and coffee shop within our foyer, both of which will be open for our performances. The foyer has step-free access via a ramp to the right of the building. Our staff will be happy to assist you should you need support with ordering or carrying items, including bringing interval orders directly to your seat should you require this. Please speak to the duty manager or box office team on arrival if you require this support.

Parking

There is no parking on site at The Priory, including blue badge parking. There are a limited number of ‘on street’ parking spaces near the venue. The closest car park is ‘Abbey Fields’ car park, located 200m away and there is the ability to drop off and pick up at the entrance of the theatre.

Toilets

The Priory Theatre has 2x female toilets, 1x male toilet, 2x urinals and 1x accessible toilet for our 120 patrons to use. The male and female toilets are located in our main foyer and the accessible toilet is located at the rear of the stalls in the auditorium. Should you require to use the accessible toilet prior to the house opening, please speak to the duty manager or box office team who will be happy to assist.

Carer/PA Tickets

When booking access tickets with us, we are able to provide an additional essential carer ticket free of charge with each access ticket if you require assistance from them during your visit. This is subject to availability and proof of eligibility may be required.

Show Specific Information

Some productions may contain elements which are useful for our access customers to be aware of. This may include, but is not limited to, the use of strobe lighting, special effects and loud music. Where possible, we display this information in advance on the ‘What’s On’ page of each production and on the tickets. We also always display this information on our digital signage at the theatre.

If you have any concerns about the content of a production, please don’t hesitate to contact the access team in advance or speak to a staff member at the theatre when you arrive.
