Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a rich widow. The stakes are high with shocking witness testimony, impassioned outbursts from the dock, and a young man’s fight to escape the hangman’s noose. Generally regarded as one of Christie’s most accomplished plays, this suspenseful thriller keeps audiences guessing until the very end.
Roles:
Leonard Vole - The likeable but accused man, charming but potentially manipulative, on trial for murder.
Romaine - Leonard's mysterious and foreign wife, whose shocking testimony turns the trial upside down
Sir Wilfred Robarts - The seasoned defence barrister, known for his sharp intellect, who takes on Vole's case.
Greta - Sir Wilfrid's efficient and forthright typist.
Carter - Sir Wilfrid's loyal chief clerk.
Mr. Mayhew - Vole's solicitor, a diligent professional who brings the case to Sir Wilfrid.
Mr Myers Q.C. - The determined and methodical Crown Prosecutor, aiming for a conviction.
Inspector Hearne - The police inspector investigating the murder.
Mr. Justice Wainwright - The stern and authoritative judge presiding over the trial.
Dr. Wyatt - The police surgeon who examines the victim
Janet Mackenzie - The victim's loyal but resentful housekeeper and a key prosecution witness.
Members of the court - including Clerk of the Court, Court Usher, Court Stenographer, Warder, The Judge’s Clerk, Barristers, Members of the Jury, A Policeman
The Other Woman - A mysterious figure whose identity is revealed in a pivotal twist

Auditions will be held as a group reading, so no need to prepare certain passages, however a script can be obtained from the director in advance.
