The voice – (M) A powerful and domineering voice that should create fear to those that hear it.
The Physical - (M/F) This is most likely to be someone on stilts with the torso and head of the character on the persons shoulders. Only seen at the end of the piece but would need good upper body strength.
For the chase sequence may be combination of human and puppet.
Felcia The Cow - (M/F) Supporting.
Felicia is the pantomime cow, played by a sole actor. This is a non-speaking part, but will be featured throughout the show and for the right performer will possibly have a showstopping/ stealing solo or Duet with Jack or Simon. Very much a character part and we will work with the successful person to develop this. Soul/Blues or Rock showstopper so show us what you’ve got! Good miming ability preferred
The audition will require auditionees to perform a solo, and a section of dialogue, either solo or with others, depending on the role.
Whilst this is a traditional pantomime, we are looking for performers who are capable of inhabiting ‘real’ characters in fourth wall style with only a small number of characters breaking the convention and engaging directly with the audience.
There will be a requirement for all at the audition to showcase their singing and dancing/movement ability
The song we would like everyone to be very familiar with is Opening Up, from the musical, Waitress. Lyrics will be as per the sheet included in the audition pack.
All principal soloists please prepare a song section of no more than two minutes that best showcases your voice.
Any ensemble children that may be interested in a small featured solo, please bring a backing track and a snippet no longer than 1 minute that shows off your voice.
