Present Laughter

Our next production, Noel Coward's Present Laughter opens this Wednesday and runs through to Saturday 12 May.

If you are interested in auditioning for one of our main productions, Auditions for Sleep No More - our October/November 2012 production - will take place next week. We're also looking for a final actor for our July 2012 production of Charley's Aunt.

Our production of Victoria Wood's Acorn Antiques: The Musical that opens on Monday 19 March is now completely sold out with a waiting list already in place for any returns.

We're sorry if you've been unable to get tickets for this tremendously popular production, and hope that you will come to one of our other productions.

On Sunday 25th March at 7pm a number of regional groups - including the Priory Theatre - will be performing excerpts from these productions at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Our next production - Victoria Wood's fantastic Acorn Antiques: The Musical - opens on Monday 19 March, and tickets have been selling fast. Acorn Antiques was first seen on BBC Television 21 years ago and has been a firm favourite with the nation ever since. The musical follows Miss Babs’ struggle to keep her antiques business open, as shop after shop in the High Street is forced out by faceless chains…

Director, Stephen Boden said; ’It is an absolute pleasure working from a script penned by the inimitable Victoria Wood. There's a laugh every second, and the songs aren't just musically brilliant, but side-splittingly funny. The cast have taken on their roles superbly, and the spirit of the classic TV show is there for all to see, alongside classic Victoria Wood catchy tunes.'

Play Reading for Fun

Our next Play Reading for Fun evening is on Thursday 19 April at 7.30pm in the theatre. This is now a regular fixture in our theatre Calendar and gives anyone a chance to come along and read a play in a relaxed atmosphere.

Come along to have a chance of reading through a play in a relaxed atmosphere - the bar will be open - without the stress of waiting to see if you get a part.

The event is open to actors and non-actors alike and all are welcome.

2011 Christmas Party

Our annual Christmas Party will be held on Saturday 10 December in the Foyer of the theatre. Places are very limited so please contact Karen Shayler via our Contact Us page or put your name up on the list in the Foyer.

Peter never recovered from the accident he had whilst at home two weeks ago and sadly passed away this morning. He was a long-term member of the Priory and had played an active role in the theatre during that time including being on the Management Committee for some years. Peter was also a strong supporter of Organ Donation and his wishes have been carried out to the benefit of others.

He will be greatly missed by us all and we extend our deepest sympathies to Claire and the family at this difficult time.

Details of the funeral arrangements will follow in due course.
