WELCOME to the Priory Theatre and our 75th Birthday Season. This section contains details of all the productions and events that are taking place at the Priory up to the end of the year 2008.
We are continually looking at ways to enhance theatre-going at the Priory and soon we will be re-fitting the auditorium seats. Our current “orange” seats have been in the Priory since the rebuilding after the fire in 1976 – over thirty years ago! We’re told that they were second hand then so they could be considerably older. Next season audience members will be able to sit in more comfortable seats which have been donated by The Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon. These “mauve” seats were removed from The Royal Shakespeare Theatre in May and come to us almost brand new. We are indebted to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre for their most generous donation.
The theatre has many opportunities to offer. We always welcome new members, either as audience members or those wishing to be more involved in any area of theatre. Membership costs only £11 per year. Further details on membership can be found by clicking on About Our Theatre.
Whatever your taste in theatre, you can be assured of a very warm welcome at one of the country's leading Little Theatres.
Theatre Accommodation
The Priory Theatre has an intimate auditorium which
seats 119 on two levels in complete comfort with an unrestricted view of the stage.

show intervals. Drinks may be ordered in advance. Confectionery, ice creams and coffee are available
during the interval.
Disabled Facilities![]()

are available in the stalls for people with wheelchairs. Access to these and the disabled
