Dave Willetts - our patron and most famous son who turned professional after being spotted in a Priory production.

Local Theatres / Groups

The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry

The Belgrade Theatre was the first civic theatre to be built after the Second World War in Britain, and is an 856-seat live-performance venue in nearby Coventry.

Caramba Theatre Company

Caramba Theatre Company are based in Stratford-upon-Avon and normally stage two costume dramas a year.

Coventry Musical Theatre Society (CMTS)

Formerly Coventry Operatic Society, CMTS celebrate their 100-year anniversary in 2009. Their June 2010 production was Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry - 2011's production is My Fair Lady.

Criterion Theatre

A 120-seat theatre in Coventry privately owned by its membership. They produce 8 main house productions each year, one of which is by their Youth Group, plus visits from other theatre groups and folk concerts.

Cubbington Players

Based in Cubbington Village Hall, Warwickshire, this group stage 3 productions per year. They put on a variety of plays from classics by Shakespeare and Miller to thrillers and comedies.

Leamington and Warwick Musical Society

The Leamington and Warwick Musical Society has been going strong for more than 80 years presenting musical productions and other theatrical events at the Royal Leamington Spa Centre.

Leicester Little Theatre

Founded in 1922 for the furtherance and study of the art of drama, Leicester Drama Society owns and operates The Little Theatre in Leicester. They present a repertoire of plays of all types throughout the year.

The Loft Theatre, Leamington Spa

The Loft has been producing live theatre in Leamington Spa since 1922, and are one of the founder members of the Little Theatre Guild.

Market Harborough Drama Society

The Market Harborough Drama Society, founded in 1933, own the Harborough Theatre producing 7 productions per year as well as hosting other local performance and art groups, as well as a local film club.

Moulton Theatre

Member of the Little Theatre Guild, Moulton Theatre in Northampton produce a range of productions in their converted Methodist Chapel.

Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC)

Probably the most famous classical theatre company in the world, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) is just down the road in Stratford-upon-Avon. Its aim is to keep modern audiences in touch with the plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.

Rugby Theatre

Rugby Theatre is an amateur society with their own intimate 313-seat theatre that put on a wide range of live performances as well as hosting many outside bookings. They also manage to squeeze in the latest films between these shows.

Royal Spa Centre, Leamington

The Royal Spa Centre is an entertainment venue ideally located in the nearby town of Royal Leamington Spa and comprises of an 800-seat theatre, a 200-seat cinema.

Spa Theatre Company

The Spa Theatre Company in Leamington Spa has a junior section for 8-14 year olds who are taught music, dance, mime, speech & drama, and a Senior Section for adults performing at least one musical a year.

The Talisman Theatre and Arts Centre

Kenilworth is very lucky to have two amateur theatres producing top quality shows. The Talisman Theatre and Arts Centre aims to stage ten main house productions every year, in addition to monthly 'Studio Saturday Night' productions in their Studio.

Three Spires Musical Society

Incorporated in 1991, Three Spires Musical Society is an amalgamation of The Coventry Musical Play Society and The Blue Triangle Society. The Society is committed to the furtherance of musical theatre - an aim which they take most seriously - and recently reached the final of Channel 5's reality show "don't stop believing".

Warwick Arts Centre

Warwick Arts Centre is one of the largest arts centres in the UK, attracting around 300,000 visitors a year to music, drama, dance, comedy, literature, films and visual art - that's over 2,000 individual events all under one roof.

Amdram.co.uk

amdram.co.uk is the free website for the amateur theatre community. It includes free resources for groups and individuals interested in amateur theatre. “We won’t make a crisis out of a drama”.

The Bear Pit

Supports and promotes the work of over twenty artistic groups, amateur and professional based in and around the historic town of Stratford upon Avon.

Little Theatre Guild

The co-ordinating body for the development of independent amateur theatres that promotes the improvement of standards, theatrical knowledge, involvement of the young, and international exchanges.

UK Theatre Web

The UK Theatre Web has been providing on-line performing arts, concerts, film and exhibition listings and information for over 14 years.

Kenilworth Festival

The Kenilworth Festival is an annual community event in the town which includes our Party in the Park with a chance to see top quality entertainers, browse our stalls and enjoy music and dance on the main stage. There are events all over the town during the period of the festival - including (at least one) at the Priory Theatre itself.

Leamington Spa Courier

The Leamington Courier is the area's leading local paid-for weekly newspaper. It publishes every Friday morning and has a sister edition, the Courier Midweek, which publishes on Wednesday morning. The Leamington Courier/Kenilworth Weekly News has kindly given permission for us to display its previews and reviews of our shows.

Educational Musicals

Educational Musicals specialise in fun and exciting musicals for children that support a wider range of KS2-KS3 UK National Curriculum subjects.

Ghost Scene Investigations

GSI are a paranormal team based in Coventry and have been interested in the paranormal for 20+ years. You can join them on a real paranormal investigation and vigil, and see what you will feel, touch, smell, see and hear! They visit the Priory Theatre on 23rd April 2011 to see if they can spot our own resident ghost!

 

Green Panda Theatre

If you’re looking for new musicals to perform, Green Panda Theatre has two exciting shows by Tim J. Spencer available for any group to perform. They also provide music, sound effects and original songs for pantomimes as well as new songs for musical theatre if you're looking for audition songs.

Imagine Theatre

One of the country's premier producers of Professional Pantomimes with over 30 venues up and down the country benefiting from their talents - including ours!

Nikki Jay Academy of Dance

The Nikki Jay Academy of Dance has been running for more than 12 years and offers both children and young adults the chance to learn to dance and perform in a variety of styles.

The Virgins and Castle, Kenilworth

For a bite to eat before or after a show, or if you want to find some of us when we're not in the theatre, The Famous Virgins and Castle pub is just down the road and offers a unique range of English and Filipino food using fresh local ingredients and has a cellar that is well stocked with some fantastic cask ales and excellent wines.

Vinology

Vinology wine merchants are based in Stratford-Upon-Avon offering an exciting range of specialist wines and single Malt Whiskies. Vinology were kind enough to bring along a small selection of the latter to sample at our November 2011 Whisky Tasting Evening.
